ACE for Coursework Success: Reading Effectively

ACE for Coursework Success is free to all Adelaide University students by coursework seeking to practise academic skills and strategies to help improve their comprehension and succeed in assignments.

This workshop focuses on strategies for reading effectively to enhance comprehension and save time.

It includes:

• identifying problems and solutions to common issues with reading at university

• previewing, skimming, scanning, and deeper reading strategies to read more efficiently 

• identifying and evaluating different types of reading texts 

• strategies for effective note-taking 

• a practice reading task

• useful tips and reading resources and websites for the next steps in your reading practice

*All ACE workshops include interactive tasks to practise the focus skills.
