Event description

The highly anticipated Acoustic Guitar Spectacular is back in 2023 with three internationally recognised acoustic guitarists ready to captivate audiences for their regional Queensland tour.

This series of very special concerts is hosted by critically acclaimed Brisbane guitarist Michael Fix. Known for his stunning fingerstyle guitar playing and captivating compositions, Fix has released numerous albums, won multiple awards, (including three CMAA Golden Guitar Awards), and has toured extensively throughout Australia and the world.

Joining Michael in 2023 are fellow-Queenslanders Minnie Marks and Sam Shepherd.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Minnie Marks is a powerhouse on the guitar. With rich bluesy tones, Marks has been described as one of the finest young guitar players in the country.

Up and coming, award-winning guitarist Sam Shepherd’s unique playing style draws from a wide range of influences. Jazz, country, folk and everything in between, Sam plays it all, blending styles to make a sound that’s distinctly his own.

Audiences and guitar aficionados are in for a treat with stories, songs, and humour, (as well as fretboard fireworks!) from this highly entertaining trio. Performing solo and ensemble pieces, these diverse guitarists present a rare opportunity to see a wealth of amazing musical talent on the one stage.
