Join us for a beginner-friendly acrobalance workshop at Ergo Yoga Space with social circus trainers Sim and Em.

What is Acrobalance?

You may have heard of 'acroyoga'? Acrobalance is very similar - but comes from a circus tradition. There are a huge range of entry level skills that look great and are easy for beginners to learn. It can be a fun way to meet people, laugh together, challenge yourself to try something new.

What will happen in the workshop?

The workshop will include

Physical movement ice breaker activities
Muscle and joint warm up,
Partner acrobalance skills
Small group balances

It will be a playful and gently challenging workshop - with a focus on safety for everyone involved

We will have a short break midway through the workshop :)

Are there any prerequisites?

No! The skills / balances in this workshop will be accessible to people without any previous acrobalance experience.

(But having a regular yoga or movement practice is a bonus!)

One of the wonderful things about acrobalance is that the skills are adaptable to different ages, body types and fitness levels. In this workshop, the trainers will adjust skills according to the needs of the group. There are various roles you can play in the class too - with permission to opt out of things if you need.

Who are the trainers?

Emily Ross & Simone Sheridan

Em & Sim both love acro and have taught together for more many years at Women*s Circus and at circus festivals. They create a fun, inclusive and safe learning environment for class participants.

Em is also an osteopath at Ergo - and practices from the upstairs clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
