Event description

SHARE THE JOY OF MUSIC MAKING IN A RELAXED NATURAL SETTING

The photograph by Mick O'Donnell  is from a 2020 Concert.

ACROSS THE LAWN CONCERTS started in 2020 in an effort to keep live music alive during Covid -19.  The small intimate community concerts were extremely  popular with both audiences and performers.  Each concert is made unique not just through the music and performers but because each day is different and the behaviour of local insects and birds is ever varying.

THE PERFORMERS

PHILIP graduated with a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Western Australia and has toured Australia and overseas as principal flute with the Australian Youth Orchestra. Subsequently he pursued further private flute study in the UK and Germany, with assistance from Youth Music Australia and the Syd Donovan Award.

As a flautist he has performed with numerous ensembles including the WA Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and has appeared as a concerto soloist with the WA Youth Orchestra, Juniper Chamber Orchestra and St George’s Sinfonia. He performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, and has performed at the Blackwood River Chamber Festival, and at the Heart of Gold Festival in Kalgoorlie. He recently presented three solo recitals with pianist Faith Maydwell as part of the Magellan chamber music series.
