ACRS WiRSN Webinar: Gender in Active Transport

Active transport offers significant benefits for health, safety, sustainability, and community wellbeing, yet women often experience transport systems differently and face unique barriers to walking, cycling, and other forms of active travel. At the same time, women are making important contributions as researchers, planners, policymakers, advocates, and leaders working to create more inclusive and accessible transport systems.

PRESENTERS:
Featuring three leading voices in the active transport space

Estelle Grech
Marilyn Johnson
Prue Oswin

Speakers will share insights from research, policy, and practice, highlighting both the challenges that can exclude women from active transport and the opportunities to create environments that better support diverse needs and experiences.

The webinar will explore how gender influences active transport participation, perceptions of safety, infrastructure design, and mobility choices.

Join us as we examine active transport through a gender lens and discuss how more equitable and inclusive transport systems can deliver safer, healthier, and more connected communities for everyone.
