The journey continues: For older women, safe mobility and driver retirement

Join the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion exploring the challenges and opportunities surrounding safe mobility and driver retirement for older women.

As Australia's population ages, supporting people to remain safely mobile is becoming increasingly important. Older women can face unique challenges when transitioning away from driving, with implications for independence, wellbeing, and community participation. This event brings together leading Australian researchers to examine the evidence, discuss emerging issues, and explore practical approaches to supporting safe, equitable mobility throughout later life.

Hear from an expert panel featuring:

Associate Professor Sjaan Koppel - Monash University Accident Research Centre
Professor Julie Brown - Head of the Injury Program, The George Institute for Global Health, and Co-Director, Transurban Road Safety Centre at NeuRA
Dr Kayla Stefanidis - Senior Research Fellow, MAIC/UniSC Road Safety Research Collaboration
Dr Joanne Bennett - Senior Lecturer, School of Behavioural and Health Sciences, Australian Catholic University

Don't miss this robust conversation with Australia's leading researchers as they explore the evidence, share insights, and discuss how we can better support older women to maintain safe mobility and navigate driver retirement with confidence.

Whether you are a researcher, practitioner, policymaker, health professional, or simply interested in safer mobility for older Australians, this event offers valuable perspectives and practical insights.

We look forward to welcoming you to this important discussion.
