Event description

Acrylic art painting class in a social and teaching session. Designed to be relaxing and enjoyable experience. Students should bring along designs and pictures of their own choice.

What will be covered in this course?

Working with acrylic paints from personal pictures and designs chosen by the student to freely develop their own style and ability. Carol will offer some quick demonstrations of various techniques throughout the course. Assistance and advise will be given as requested and as required. Carol will also have on hand several designs and ideas to start your work.

By the end of this course students will:

Carol’s main aim is to ensure that the students have an enjoyable and informative course structure. Students will have gained an insight to the management and application of acrylic painting, and will have gained confidence in their ability to complete a painting that they are pleased with.


THIS CLASS IS FOR: Beginners, Experienced and Advanced, all levels, aged 16+

LOCATION: Woolgoolga Gallery 73 Turon Parade Woolgoolga

TIME: Saturdays 1pm to 4pm
DURATION: 7 weeks

WHEN: 10th February to 23rd March

REQUIRED MATERIALS

Canvas, variety of coloured paints, brushes, A4 sketch book, pens, ruler, kneadable eraser and pencils, apron, plastic table cloth.

All the above materials and equipment can be purchased from Crazy Sam’s, Kaistercraft, Spotlight, Choice Discount Store. 

Mont Marte Dimension acrylic paints are my preferred brand, a medium bodied paint at $8 per tube. It’s not wise buying cheaper paints, but if you have acrylic paints at home, bring them along.

ABOUT THE TUTOR 

Carol Treadwell Dip. Adult Education Uni SA. Carol has taught art and crafts for the past 30 years, teaching at various art galleries and at her own studio in South Australia. Selling her artwork to the public, a number of crafts and paintings over the years. Carol believes that class learning should be enjoyable, relaxing and a way of gaining confidence through practice and experience.
