    The CIPS ACT Committee, in partnership with ArcBlue, invites you to breakfast and a presentation on how public sector procurement teams can prepare for the introduction of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NPCC).

    Justin Sara and Adam O'Brien from ArcBlue will discuss the lessons learned from jurisdictions where anti-corruption commissions have been introduced and provide practical advice on how those responsible for and working within procurement and contracting can best prepare for the introduction of the NACC.

    The Commonwealth is one of the last jurisdictions in Australia to introduce an anti-corruption commission. In South Australia and New South Wales, a new complaint or investigation related to procurement occurs on average every 1.4 days. In Western Australia in FY20/21, 54% of the Corruption and Crime Commission’s investigations related to procurement and financial management. With the introduction of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), procurement and contracting across the Commonwealth will face more scrutiny than ever before.

    Justin Sara, Public Sector lead and Director - ArcBlue

    Justin has held leadership positions across multiple public sector organisations, including in South Australia’s State Government during the introduction of their Independent Commission Against Corruption.

    Adam O’Brien, Associate Director and ACT Lead - ArcBlue.

    Adam has held head of governance, procurement and legal roles in the public sector, is an admitted lawyer in the ACT, and has over 15 years’ experience consulting to both federal and state governments in better practice governance and procurement.
