Event description

Process-based frameworks: Creating change for the 'whole person' in their social context

Recent years have seen a shift in psychotherapy research and practice away from protocol- or syndrome-based frameworks, and toward process-based alternatives. This shift allows scientist-practitioners to tap into a breadth of intervention research, so that we can avoid limiting ourselves to a single model of therapy, and instead utilise elements from a broader evidence-base to support change and growth in the people we work with.

Join us to hear Dr. Louise Hayes, a co-creator of the process-based framework DNA-V, share how these models can provide new perspectives and opportunities for people accessing therapy, while also supporting practitioners to more easily work with the whole person in their social context.

After the talk, attendees are welcomed to stay on at the venue and eat dinner together, and to make new connections or refresh old ones.

Our ACT in the Pub talks are a great opportunity to network with members of your local ACBS chapter and the ACT community, as well as learning new perspectives and approaches to utilising and thinking about ACT. Newcomers to the event, community, and to ACT are welcome!

Chapter members can access a code for discounted tickets here.
