Canberra Slam is hosting the Australian Poetry Slam ACT heat and final! ^_^
The winner will go on to perform at the Opera House and represent the territory :o

If there's any time at once the competitors have finished performing, Andrew Cox will be performing a small feature set!

Andrew Cox is a Filipino Australian and a living ancestor of the Waray people of Eastern Samar. Andrews work is grounded in the disciplines of slam and spoken word, and has found national recognition, named an emerging voice in Australian poetry. He is the creative producer of the Canberra Poetry Slam. Andrew's work has been shortlisted for writing prizes, notably for Innovation in Spoken Word, and featured internationally for the 2023 Singapore Writers Festival. His writing has been published in anthologies across Australia and around the world, most recently Admissions (Upswell publishing) and commissioned by the likes of Red Room Poetry. As a descendant of banig weavers, his work is a tikog / thread that connects communities.

🎤 A round of open mic performances who get scored by 'expert judges'....
.....who we randomly select from the audience, 

🎤 A lot of feelings! you might even find your story in someone elses so brace yourself for an emotional rollercoaster.
