Event description

Discover the fundamentals of acting with us. Learn valuable, practical acting skills to enhance your performance or help kick off your acting journey. 

Over the course of five weeks, you’ll work with a professional actor, to explore the actor’s process, from analyzing text to identifying objectives and working collaboratively with a scene partner. Participants will receive scripts to work on, along with personalised feedback to help refine their craft and deepen their understanding of the material and performance craft.

This five week workshop series is perfect for anyone curious about acting or looking to strengthen their performance skills. This is an opportunity to grow and expand your abilities in a fun and supportive environment.


Course Outline:

  • Vocal and body warm ups.
  • Text analysis. 
  • Identifying given circumstances.
  • Character objectives.
  • Working instinctively. 
  • Collaborating with a scene partner.
  • Following impulses. 
  • Blocking and movement.

About Tom:

Tom Dawson graduated from NIDA in 2020 and since has began a career both on stage and on screen. His theatrical credits include; Metropolis (The Hayes), The Smeds and the Smoos (CPD), Cherry Smoke (KXT) and Horses (Belvoir 25A). 

His screen credits include Total Control (ABC), Home and Away (Channel 7) and NCIS: Sydney (Paramount+).
