With health equity rising to the top of the U.S. policy agenda, USC IIGH Director of Policy Engagement Prof. Jonathan Cohen will evaluate current opportunities to place equity at the center of U.S. global health diplomacy, investments and programs.


Jonathan Cohen is Clinical Professor and Director of Policy Engagement for the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health. A recognized global health and human rights leader, Cohen recently led the Public Health Program at the Open Society Foundations, directing the philanthropy’s $39M global health portfolio. His research and policy engagement have been credited with embedding human rights principles into diverse health issues, from access to medicines to harm reduction to sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
