Activate Bayside WalkingTour
Event description
Find out about how we can make crossing the Princes Highway safer and improve health, wellbeing and connection to nature and cultural heritage.
Join Peaceful Bayside Ward 2 candidates David Levinson, Professor of Transport Engineering at Sydney University and lead candidate Carolin Wenzel.
Starting at Arncliffe Station Eastern side we will walk down to a potential Princes Highway crossing point. Find out about a hidden historic landmark that could become a green walking corridor all the way to Botany Bay.
Walking to historic Tempe House we will be joined by the Bike Tour led by Peaceful Bayside Ward 4 candidate Dominic Galvin and Ward 3 candidate Janin Bredehoeft, and explore a potential site to create a passage under the Cooks River Bridge.
Read Professor Levinson's article in The Tranportist about Walking the Outfall Trail, which describes his vision for establishing this as a green walking trail from Wolli Creek to Botany Bay.
We will finish with late brunch at Kal's cafe in Cahill Park
