ACTIVATE THE WHEATBELT - Tree Planting Festival - GABBIN 2021
Event description
Activate the Wheatbelt is extremely excited to announce our return to Gabbin for our SEVENTH consecutive year and our biggest year yet!
Join us on the weekend of July 2nd - July 4th to help plant 85,000 trees.
Thanks to The Trillion Trees Community Gift Fund we will plant on Hugh and Dee Morgan's farm 25,000 mixed native species, as well as about 50,000 saltbush. And as the lucky recipients of a WA State Natural Resource Management Community Stewardship Grant we will plant an additional10,000 biodiverse mix of native species in nearby Koorda on the land of Matt and Meg Brooks.
This year in Gabbin, not only are our planting numbers bigger than ever but our party is also going to be bigger than ever! We have an unbelievable line-up of musicians, bands and DJs and will also run the extra activities, workshops and kids activities you have come to expect from an Activate event. You’re definitely not going to want to miss this weekend!
Our tree planting festival is a family friendly, inclusive and drug free event which is open to all ages. Everyone is welcome to come and help us create habitat for wildlife and bring the biodiversity back to this farm landscape.
• • WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FESTIVAL • •
At the event we will be hard at work planting trees during the day, with the motivation of DJ's and musicians to inspire us along in the field. At night things really come to life with a diverse range of musical acts to listen and dance to. Delicious and nutritious organic meals are provided while you enjoy the serenity under the stars and the warmth of the bonfire. This is a community effort where everyone is included and part of the Activate the Wheatbelt team.
Through the spirit of celebration and the physical planting of the trees, Activate the Wheatbelt events get you back in touch with Mother Nature. This is an opportunity to help repair our precious environment whilst meeting new friends and experiencing a raw West Australian bush festival.
