Join Perks Associate Director and Mentor of the Helpmann Academy Creative Innovator Program, Tim Haslam, as he unpacks the basics for managing the financial side of your creative business.

This session is designed to empower emerging creative entrepreneurs with the fundamentals of business and financial management, helping you to understand what the numbers in your financial reports really mean.

You will learn how to build a budget that will act as a clear roadmap to achieving your financial goals and help you finish the financial year on top. This workshop will also highlight how you can use technology to gain efficiencies in your financial management and a clear picture of your financial position with insights to help you make timely decisions to scale and grow your business.

The session will cover off the following topics and conclude with a Q&A and networking drinks on Perks rooftop deck:

  • Employment and Remuneration
  • Tax for Small Businesses

Wednesday 23 November 4:00pm sharp start, followed by networking drinks from 5:30pm till 6:00pm

WHO: This workshop is for emerging creatives wanting to learn about the business essentials needed to manage your creative business.

COST: FREE for eligible emerging creatives – check your eligibility here! If you are no longer eligible you can still attend, for an early bird fee of $20 or general admission of $25 which is payable when you book your tickets.

About Tim Haslam
Tim is an Associate Director of Perks, Business Services. His accounting career spans over 15-years and across a diverse range of industries including property, retail and wholesale, professional services, trade, healthcare, and wine. Having worked in a variety of high-profile commercial roles in the UK and Sydney, he has an innate understanding of the motivations and challenges faced by business owners, and an ability to connect and speak their language. Ultimately, he enjoys sharing the journey with his clients – developing a deep understanding of their business and affairs, navigating challenges, goalsetting, improving margins and profit, building wealth, and consistently delivering to help achieve success.

Outside of the office, Tim has a passion for music and playing the piano. He combines this interest and his skills in finance by currently serving as Treasurer for non-profit peak body Music SA and leading Perks’ involvement with the Helpmann Academy Creative Innovator Program as a presenter and active mentor.
