Jungle exploration in Papua (Indonesia) + distribution of reusable bottles
I’ve been invited to join a month-long exploration deep into the wild heart of Papua - one of Indonesia’s most mysterious and less-traveled islands. Having worked in Raja Ampat as a dive instructor, I know the beauty of this region, but Papua is something else entirely. It holds a raw, untamed energy, and many say its people - much like in Lombok - carry a certain spice in their spirit. Much of Papua remains unexplored, and that’s exactly what draws me in. With a small, curious team, I’ll be trekking through dense jungle, searching for nature’s hidden surprises — waterfalls, wildlife, perhaps even unknown trails. I don’t have a family of my own yet, so I ask myself: why not now? In addition to the adventure, I’ll continue a mission that’s close to my heart - raising awareness around plastic waste. On many Indonesian islands, it’s common to see small plastic water cups used once and tossed, often into the sea. To counter this, I usually fill a suitcase with reusable water bottles, which I gift to locals while sharing simple ways to reduce single-use plastic. It’s a small gesture, but it opens conversations and creates ripples of change. So, this journey blends wild exploration with purpose - a way to connect with nature, with people, and with the kind of future I believe in. <3
