    KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

    Tick Jiang - Founder & CEO at NUVC.AI

    Tick is an angel investor, a CEO and Founder of NUVC.ai, is revolutionizing venture capital with AI to create more meaningful connections between investors and founders, creating unicorn algorithms at the same time making the ecosystem more inclusive. Overcoming personal and professional challenges, she rebuilt her vision to close the diversity funding gap. As an angel investor and board advisor many startups and Asian Investor Clubs. Tick empowers entrepreneurs, educating and connecting Asian investors to the startup landscape. Her journey inspires women in startup and entrepreneurship, demonstrating resilience, innovation, and a commitment to impactful change.

    Tick will talk about her experience in starting her own technology business and how AI has been implemented in investment.

    Mahdis Smith - PhD Candidate at Griffith Business School

    Mahdis is a PhD candidate, and Higher Degree Research Representative at Business Strategy and Innovation department, as well as an ambassador of Emerging Industry Leaders program (EILP) at Griffith University. Investigating organizational use of AI, and how it impacts sense of autonomy of leaders and knowledge workers. Building upon skills gained in Business Development Management roles including, nurturing B2B and B2C relationships and understanding and addressing their needs effectively. She can now identify research expansion opportunities and deliver pitches to potential investors. Her academic pursuits are driven by a desire to contribute new knowledge and innovative solutions, bridging the gap between business strategy and cutting-edge research. As she continues her professional career journey, she is excited to leverage gained learnings to tackle the critical yet simple or complicated organizational problems regarding AI adoption and making meaningful contributions to practice.

    Mahdis will talk about AI implementation in academic research pathways and industry leaders.

    Henry BI - AI Expert at CPA Australia

    Henry is a professional with a master's degree in financial mathematics and computer science from The University of Queensland. He applies his skills in data mining and analysis at CPA Australia, driving impactful insights. Prior to CPA, he led a Royal Brisbane Hospital project using GANs to generate brain MRI images, as well as other minor projects including BERT and LLM research. Henry has a background in Actuary, Machine Learning and AI.

    Henry will talk about the utilization of Generative AI in resolving real business case(s)

    Cissy Ma FCPA GAICD (She/Her) - Managing Director at Grow and Sell Your Biz P/L

    Cissy helps businesses raise capital, increase valuation and sell. She has 25 years of M&A experience. She is a SheEO Activator since 2018, an impact Investor, the founder of APAC Women's Mentoring Circle, mentor for CPA Australia, UQ, Queensland Government, River City Labs and Inspiring Rare Birds. During 22 years of her corporate career at Queensland Treasury Corporation, QR/Aurizon and ShineWing Australia, Cissy has led about $17 billion of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and structured deals from both they buying and selling sides. 

    Cissy is a Deputy President in 2024 QLD Divisional Council at CPA Australia. Cissy will be giving an opening remark at this event.
