Live Stream & Breakfast: Official Ada Lovelace Live! 2023
Event description
Ada Lovelace Day 2023
You’re invited to an exclusive live stream of the official Ada Lovelace Day Live event (streamed from London, UK) on Wednesday 11th October 2023 at 07:30 am at Basestation - to be followed by a conversation with our very own inspirational wāhine in STEM, Natalie Prinz and Renée Young.
Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths. It also inspired our award winning Tauranga STEM Festival!
Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician, an associate of “The Father of Computing” Charles Babbage, she was responsible for translating an article by the military engineer Luigi Menabrea about Babbage’s Analytical Engine, supplementing it with an elaborate set of seven notes, simply called "Notes". She is considered by many to be the first computer programmer.
Join us at Basestation as we live-stream the celebrations of Ada Lovelace Day Live from London England, to raise awareness of women’s accomplishments and inspire girls to pursue careers in STEM, shaping a more inclusive future together.
A light breakfast will be provided.
