ADA Urban Sketching - Australian Art Deco Festival

    Event description

Looking to try something new in art and have fun along the way? Urban sketching may be the thing for you. Come along and have a go, maybe invite a friend for twice the fun! With no experience required it is the ideal way to spend a couple of hours immersed in the moment. This time round we will be sketching up a storm capturing the many and varied art deco buildings in Pine Ave.

Art Deco Arts is a new local organisation, and we invite interested sketchers to join us with 2 hours to immerse yourself in the live experience of sketching the urban landscape with some guidance provided. This informal sketching gathering is for all skill levels and provides everyone with an opportunity to share the experience within a friendly group.

A few tips to consider: Keep it simple. The purpose is to get out and about, with other like-minded sketchers, enjoy yourself and capture your vision of the subject. Materials should be simple too - a small size sketch book, graphite pencil and an eraser are all that is required. The choice is yours, nothing is right, wrong or off limits. Remember the sketch need not be perfect, it is only for your enjoyment. You will have an enjoyable time spent in the outdoors with friends in art.

Bring your own favourite materials, sun protection, water, snacks and a comfy chair. Participants that sign up will also receive a more detailed 'how to' on ways to approach a sketch, to ensure everyone has the best tips and tricks to start their sketching experience.

Date and time is Sunday, July 14, 9:30am to 11:30am, Meeting opposite the Roxy Theatre near the taxi rank, Pine Ave Leeton. See you there!
