Terms & Conditions
BUFF EVENTS
Melbourne
Ticket Terms and Conditions of Entry
ADAM · LUST · DELINQUENT
1. The basics
• Organiser: Buff Events Pty Ltd, ABN 27 637 815 859, PO Box 1100 Collingwood VIC 3066. Contact hello@buffevents.com.
• These terms cover ADAM, LUST, DELINQUENT and our other Victorian events.
• Venue, date, door times, ticket price and the refund window are specific to each event. You will find them on the event page and in your order.
• Price is shown at checkout in AUD including GST. Humanitix adds a booking fee, shown separately.
• Your ticket contract is with Buff Events. Humanitix is the ticketing platform only.
• These terms apply from the moment you buy and from the moment you enter. If you do not accept them, do not buy and do not come.
• Where a venue rule is stricter than ours, the venue rule applies.
2. Vibe
• ADAM and LUST are for men and masculine-identifying adults who are attracted to men. Trans men and masculine-identifying non-binary people are welcome at both.
• DELINQUENT is open to people of all genders.
• Across all of them: all races, all bodies, all subcultures. No gawking, no haters. You never have to join in, but this is not a place to come and watch.
We may refuse or end entry where we reasonably believe a person’s presence would undermine the safety of attendees or the character of the event. We do not ask about anyone’s body, anatomy or medical history, and we do not make entry decisions on that basis.
3. Getting in
• 18+. No exceptions.
• Government photo ID every time, however old you look. Digital licences accepted.
• We check age only. Buff Events does not scan or record your ID.
• Some venues run their own ID scanning or banned-patron system as a condition of their licence. That system belongs to the venue and the venue’s terms apply to it, not ours.
• No acceptable ID, no entry, no refund. This is stated here and at checkout.
• Accessibility: email hello@buffevents.com before you book and we will tell you honestly what the venue can do.
4. Consent
• Consent is a yes, not the absence of a no.
• Say or do something to check the other person agrees, before and during any contact. Not resisting is not agreeing.
• Yes to one thing is not yes to another. Yes earlier is not yes now.
• Someone asleep, unconscious, or too far gone to understand cannot consent. If you are unsure, they cannot.
• Consent can be withdrawn at any moment, by words or conduct. Stop immediately.
• If someone has said no, in words or otherwise, do not keep approaching them. Leave them alone for the rest of the night.
• If in doubt, stop and ask. Nobody has ever been thrown out of our events for asking.
5. Play rules
• Restraint, bondage, gags, hoods, impact and electro play need everyone’s specific agreement, in advance, to that specific thing.
• If someone cannot speak freely, agree a clear non-verbal stop signal first and make sure they can always give it.
• Never leave a restrained person alone. Not briefly. Not to get a drink.
• No breath play, choking, strangulation or pressure on the neck. Not in any form, not even when everyone wants it.
• No blood, needles, cutting or branding. Nothing that breaks skin.
• No suspension except on our rigging, run by someone we have approved.
• Run a scene only if you are competent in it and sober enough to read your partner.
• Staff can pause or stop any scene at any time. Comply first, talk to us after.
6. What to expect
By buying a ticket and by entering, you accept that all of this is present:
• Explicit sex, kink and nudity in full view, and being invited to join in.
• Strobes, lasers, haze, and volume that can damage hearing. We usually have free earplugs at the bar, but bring your own to be sure. Real risk if you have photosensitive epilepsy.
• Darkness, dark rooms, crowding, wet or slippery floors.
• Physical contact from other people, including by accident in crowds.
• Sexually transmissible infections and other communicable illness.
• Alcohol and other drugs impairing judgement, yours and other people’s.
• Emotional distress, including from scenes you did not expect to see.
• Loss of or damage to your property.
• The behaviour of other attendees, which we respond to but cannot fully control.
If that is outside your comfort zone, this event is not for you.
7. Cameras, photography and phones
The venue’s cameras
• The venue operates CCTV. Cameras cover the venue, including some areas where play happens. By buying a ticket and by entering, you accept that you may be recorded. This paragraph is your notice, before you buy and before you come. Ask us or the venue at any time if you want the detail.
• Buff Events does not install or operate the venue’s CCTV. We ask the venue for footage only to investigate a reported incident.
• CCTV footage is never used for marketing, and leaves the venue only where the law requires it or with the agreement of the people shown.
Our photographers
• At some events we have a designated photographer. When we do, it is announced on the event page and the photographer is visibly identifiable.
• Our photographers do not work in play areas.
• We will not publish a picture of you unless we asked you on the night and you said yes, or you appear in a group shot in which you cannot be identified.
• Changed your mind later? Email hello@buffevents.com and we will take your picture down from our sites and stop using it.
Your phone
• No photos or filming anywhere inside, unless you are in a designated photo area we have told you about.
• Phones away in play areas. Not in your hand, not face-down on a surface, away.
• Recording or sharing an image of someone without their agreement is a serious breach and can be a criminal offence.
8. Drink, drugs and looking after yourself
• Staff will not serve anyone who is intoxicated.
• Illegal drugs are not permitted.
• Being drunk or high is not a defence to a consent breach.
• Feeling bad, or worried about someone? Tell staff immediately. Help comes first. Nobody gets in trouble for asking, and we do not report anyone’s own drug use.
• If you or anyone else needs medical help, tell staff straight away.
• Free water all night. Free condoms and lube throughout.
• Please do not come if you have something contagious you could pass on.
9. If something goes wrong
• On the night: any staff member at the cloak, bar or front desk, or a welfare point volunteer if one is on duty.
• Afterwards: hello@buffevents.com. We aim to reply within 48 hours.
• You can report to us, to police, to both, or to neither. Your choice. We keep relevant evidence and support whatever you decide. We may report serious matters ourselves.
• Unhappy with how we handled it? Write to hello@buffevents.com marked for the attention of a director, and a director will reply.
10. If we ask you to leave
Entry is a licence and we can withdraw it. We may refuse entry, remove you, or ban you where we reasonably believe you have broken the consent rules or play rules, behaved unsafely or abusively, recorded someone, kept approaching a person after they said no, become so affected that you cannot look after yourself, cannot tell whether someone else is consenting, or cannot consent yourself, ignored a reasonable instruction from staff or security, or used false ID or someone else’s ticket without their permission.
• Removed for your own breach: no refund.
• Refused or removed for something that is not your fault, such as capacity being reached or a direction from the venue or an authority: full refund of the ticket price.
• A serious breach means a ban from Buff Events shows in Melbourne and Berlin.
• Where the law allows, we may share the fact of a ban and a description of the conduct with other venues and organisers, and through the patron safety systems that licensed venues use. We share only what is necessary, and only with organisations that keep it confidential and use it for safety.
• If we share, we will tell you at the contact address on your booking, you can put your side of it to us, and you can ask us what we shared and ask us to correct it.
• If you injure someone or damage property by breaking these rules, you are responsible for it, and to the extent the law allows you indemnify us for what that costs us.
11. Tickets and refunds
• Each event has its own refund window. It is shown on the event page and in your order. Inside the window you can process a refund yourself from your ticket order.
• Outside the window we do not refund for change of mind.
• You can transfer your ticket free to another eligible person up to 24 hours before doors, from your ticket order. They must meet section 3 themselves.
• The refund window does not affect any of the following, which apply whenever they arise:
◦ We cancel the event: full refund of the ticket price.
◦ We reschedule: keep your ticket for the new date or take a full refund.
◦ The billed headline act does not appear: contact us within 14 days and we will assess it under the Australian Consumer Law. A support act dropping out is not grounds for a refund; the line-up is our intention, not a promise.
◦ We change these terms for safety or legal reasons and you do not accept the change: full refund, as set out in section 14.
◦ Any remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
• For anything self service does not cover, email hello@buffevents.com. We give a first reply within 5 business days.
• Approved refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days. Humanitix booking fees come back only where the law requires it.
12. Your data
• We hold your name, email and ticket details, to sell you a ticket, let you in, and email you about the event.
• Coming to an event like this can say something about your sexual orientation. So: access is limited to the people who need it, we never combine it with anything else, and we never sell it or hand it to advertisers.
• It goes to Humanitix and our payment processor, because that is how a ticket reaches you. Otherwise it goes nowhere, except where the law requires it or where we share ban information as described in section 10.
• We keep your details only as long as we need them: for the event itself, for our tax and accounting obligations, and for any incident that is still open.
• Ask what we hold, correct it, or delete it: hello@buffevents.com. We reply within 30 days.
• Not happy with how we have handled your information? Write to hello@buffevents.com marked for the attention of a director.
13. Our responsibility
• Nothing here excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where they conflict, your rights win and the rest of these terms still apply.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for harm from a risk inherent in an event like this, or from what other attendees do, except where we caused it by our own negligence.
• We do not exclude liability for death or injury caused by our negligence.
• Property you bring is at your own risk, except in the cloakroom, where the venue’s cloakroom terms apply.
14. The rest
• Victorian law. Victorian courts.
• If part of these terms does not hold up, the rest still does.
• The version that applies to you is the one in force when you bought. If we have to change something for safety or to comply with the law, we will email your booking address, and if you do not accept the change you can cancel and take a full refund of the ticket price before the event.
• Nothing here gives anyone rights against another attendee.
• Buying for someone else? Send them these terms. They must meet section 3 themselves.
Buying for someone else? Make sure they understand all of this. 🖤
