Event description

Join us for a family-friendly evening of powerful storytelling and community conversation.

Across the country, communities are taking meaningful action to adapt to a changing climate. Be part of the debut screening of 11 powerful micro-documentaries, highlighting innovative adaptation projects from across NSW. These films showcase resilience in action—from traditional fire practices to combating extreme heat and creating climate resources in native languages.

Following the screenings, we’ll open up space for an interactive discussion where audience reflections and panellist insights will weave together to explore what’s next for community adaptation. Through a facilitated conversation, we’ll connect personal takeaways with the broader themes of resilience and change, helping us all think about how we can contribute.

For those wanting to help build resilience in their own communities, this is more than just a film screening—it’s a chance to connect, share insights, and explore possibilities together.

Light nibbles and refreshments provided.

Hosted by NSW Government, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW)

The Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2023 legislates the NSW Government’s ambitious approach to addressing climate change. It sets a clear path to 2050 with emissions reduction targets, as well as an objective for NSW to be more resilient to a changing climate.

The Act commits the NSW government to effective action on climate change. To protect our communities, lands, skies and seas across NSW ensure a sustainable and fair future for generations to come.
