Enjoy a day of connection this International Women's Day
at Bellambi Neighbourhood Center from 9.30am to 2pm. You can book in for the Illawarra Nature Stories and Songs session or for all sessions.
Starting at 9.30am with Welcome to Country by Jodi Edwards
9.40am Illawarra Nature Stories and Songs
will delight audiences young and forever young while celebrating the wonderful natural environment we are a part of. This is a collaboration including Dharawal language expert and storyteller Jodi Edwards, oral storyteller and improviser Lillian Rodrigues-Pang and creativity expert and music therapist Ann Lehmann-Kuit.
10.40am A delicious morning tea
of muffins with bush tucker ingredients will be provided by Narelle Happ from A Garden for Life. Please bring your own foods if you have specific dietary requirements.
11am Wayapa Wuurrk
means connection to earth and is a practice of movement based on Indigenous knowledge's. It will be lead by Jodi Edwards who includes Dharawal Language.
12 midday Creative responding
led by Karen Cummings, voice teacher and performer and Ann Lehmann-Kuit, singer songwriter and so much more. Be joyfully and kindly guided through a creative response process as you feel, connect and reflect in writing, drawing and song. Bring your favourite diary/note pad or use paper we have on site.
1pm Bush Tucker foods lunch
Narelle Happ will provide Warragal green pesto pasta (wheat and gluten free options) and talk us through her recipes and ingredients- bring your additional food to share for a communal lunch. - fridge available.
Located at the warm and welcoming Bellambi Neighbourhood Center - 49a Cawley St Bellambi. Street parking available.
