Guildhouse presents our latest INFORM Professional Development Workshop: Introduction to Digital Art Installation with CAPITAL WASTE (Liam Somerville).

Learn the fundamentals of installing digital artwork in this practical workshop covering the different types of projectors, digital file preparation, media players, audio playback, working with an AV company and setting up projectors. Led by cinematographer and video artist CAPITAL WASTE, the session will give participants a strong overview of installing and exhibiting different types of digital media.

Designed for artists and arts workers seeking to expand their creative practice and develop the skills and confidence to work professionally in digital environments, this workshop is a unique opportunity to learn directly from an experienced industry professional in a small, supportive group setting.

CAPITAL WASTE is a video-artist/VJ/cinematographer based on Kaurna Yerta, South Australia. Initially spawning from a background in film before gravitating toward experimental moving image mediums- they now work across XR/VR experiences, large-scale outdoor projection, live AV performances, cinema, online and gallery installations.

Their work poses critiques of anthropocentrism while exploring our complicated technological relationship with nature by blending repurposed obsolete tech with realtime rendering engines.

CAPITAL WASTE has created visuals with M.I.A, Pussy Riot, The Superjesus, The Angels, DEM MOB, Actress, EYƎ and Plastiq. Showing work at AGSA, NGV, MCA, Soft Centre, FTREJCE, WoMADelaide, ILA, Unsound Club, Illuminate Adelaide, FUBAR Festival, The Wrong Biennale and Denver Museum of Science.

Washdog Studio is a multi-artform shared artist studio on Kaurna Country in Adelaide, South Australia currently housing 13 artists working across painting, ceramics, sculpture and installation with a focus on digital and new media work, integrating digital work with physical art-making processes.

The Washdog space is shared with Fab Workshop, an art and design studio and workshop that houses artists, designers and metal fabricators.

Accessibility:
Washdog has ramp access through the front of the building, 1x accessible bathroom and 1x non-accessible toilet.
