Adelaide Botanic Garden Guided Walk
Event description
Adelaide Botanic Garden: A welcoming ‘Home’ in the city
This garden provides locals and visitors to this State ‘the’ location to explore diversity in nature. This Nature Festival walk will include plants suitable for ‘The Nature of Home’ from different eras: large gracious specimens to medicinal, culinary, cultural and fibre plants through to a modern kitchen garden that teaches children about our food cycle.
Opened in 1857, this city oasis is home to significant collections sourced from around the world that continue to play a vital role in science and education. Like old ‘Homes’, there is heritage architecture that has been adapted for contemporary use.
