Adelaide Hills Native Fire-Wise Landscaping

Are you keen to learn about our local native plant species and how they may be able to reduce risk of bushfire at your place whilst enhancing biodiversity?

Native Fire-Wise Landscaping: Paul and Angela, the Two BUSHIES will discuss local low-flammability native plants and how to incorporate them into a fire-wise garden design. Think landscaping elements such as rock mulch and sprinkler systems, and thoughtful plant selection, location and maintenance.

Following the presentation, there will be time for Q&A's.

This workshop is great for homeowners, garden enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning about how our native plants can be used to reduce the impacts of potential bushfire. Whether you live in a rural or suburban area, the principles of fire-wise landscaping can help to reduce risk to your property when maintained appropriately. 

It is important to understand that no plant is completely non-flammable. Species require maintenance (e.g. pruning) to ensure optimum condition. While a well-planned garden is important, it is only one aspect of bushfire preparedness and should not be relied upon in isolation.
