Adelaide’s Contested Graphic Heritage Workshop
Event description
This workshop will explore Adelaide's contested graphic heritage through fieldwork activities that involve walking and exploring the cities heritage locations. Participants will be invited to document aspects of the city's heritage interpretation, presentation and representation through 'Photovoice'. This will require utilising their smartphones to record and share their observations. The workshop will begin with a light lunch. Participants should notify the host with any specific dietary requirements.
About the SIDA Foundation and the David Roche Foundation Fellowship: This workshop organised by Dr Robert Harland, is an outcome of the Society of Interior Designers (SIDA) Foundation and The David Roche Foundation Research (TDRF) Fellowship hosted by The University of South Australia (UniSA). The SIDA Foundation supports interior design and interior architecture teaching and research programs at UniSA. The David Roche Foundation welcomes visitors to Fermoy House with its extensive European art collection and gallery with a program of curated exhibitions. Foundation Fellows engage with TDRF collection and vision, reflect the legacy of SIDA and make use of UniSA resources or expertise. Projects are from a range of disciplines, including but not limited to design, art, craft and material culture.
The workshop is also part of ongoing collaboration with Adelaide UNESCO City of Music, from whom participants will gain an overview of the UN Creative Cities Network and Sustainable Development Goals.
The organisers acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Kaurna land on which we meet, and work and pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
