How do I join a scheduled Zoom meeting?

* Click the link on the invitation I’ve sent you above

* Open your Zoom app on your desktop

* Click on Join and enter the Meeting ID number to start the meeting

Do I need to download Zoom to join a meeting?

You do not have to have a Zoom account to attend a Zoom meeting or interview. You will be prompted to download the software, once you have clicked on the link that you have been provided. You may also wish to create an account, but that is not required to participate in a Zoom meeting.

Arrive Early

I would suggest if you have not attended a Zoom meeting before that you give yourself an extra few minutes before the meeting starts to ensure that you get the software downloaded and are ready to join the meeting on time. You may however join the meeting a few minutes early. Some other participants may already have done the same, but you may be waiting for me to let you into the meeting.

Zoom Facilities

Once you have joined the meeting you will see there is a ‘Mute’ button. Please mute yourself on joining to avoid background noise during the presentation. You have a choice whether to enable your ‘Video’ button or not. If you wish to be seen by others in the meeting press this button. If you would prefer not to be seen turn the Video to off. There is a ‘Chat’ facility. This is where you can type a question to either ‘Everyone in the meeting’ or just to one person. If you have a question you can direct this to me personally or everyone. You can also use this facility if you can’t hear or see the presentation or have some other technical difficulty.
