Adopt a Tree 2024
Event description
Our Adopt a Tree program returns for its second year!
We have over 240 semi-mature trees to give to residents within the Penrith LGA to help increase tree canopy. While Penrith has seen a significant increase in tree canopy over the last few years — even establishing itself as a leader among other local government areas — we still have suburbs that are low canopy and susceptible to heat during the hotter months.
Increasing trees on private property can:
• provide shade and help passively cool homes during summer,
• attract birdlife and pollinator species to your garden,
• and improve and support Penrith’s unique biodiversity
There will be four species to choose from: Callistemon (Bottlebrush), Melaleuca (Black tea tree), Lillypillies and Acacia (Wattle). These trees were grown locally at the Penrith Council Nursery.
Select the species and pick-up time to secure your tree when choosing your ticket. Only select one timeslot.
