ADS Conversations with Families and Friends - Face to Face
Event description
Join us and other families and friends who are supporting a loved one living with mental ill health and or alcohol and other drug use to hear from ADS to talk about what psychotherapies are used in AOD treatment and how do we support ourselves, other family members, and our loved one, when they don't want to engage in treatment.
You can expect time at the beginning of the session to hear the guest speakers talk about:
- The different therapies that ADS use with individuals
- How we can support ourselves and others psychologically, emotionally, and practically
- How do we cope when our loved one doesn't want to engage in support
In the last part of the session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on your experiences and needs.
These sessions ARE NOT FOR:
- service providers
- consumers
- Those under 18 years of age
**We understand that many people wear many hats, we just ask that you come in your role as a support person and understand that this is a space for families and friends to be able to speak freely and without judgement
