The 2026 Asbestos and Dust Diseases Symposium is a free health education event hosted by the Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS). Hear from leading medical specialists and respiratory experts about the dangers of dust, including asbestos and silica. Learn about prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of dust diseases, including mesothelioma, asbestosis and silicosis.

The Asbestos Disease Support Society (ADSS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing essential support to individuals affected by asbestos-related diseases, as well as their families and carers. Founded in 1992 by the late Mrs Shirley White OAM, the Society has grown into a trusted source of assistance, advocacy, awareness, and education.

ADSS is committed to delivering high-quality support services to those impacted by asbestos exposure. The Society also works to advocate for stronger protections, lobbying all levels of government to address asbestos-related issues. Through community and workplace awareness programs, ADSS helps educate the public on the dangers of asbestos exposure. Additionally, the Society collaborates with the health sector to improve understanding and treatment of asbestos-related diseases.

ADSS provides a range of free services to members, including advice on asbestos-related issues, telephone support, morning teas, and support groups in local communities. The Society also assists with referrals to experienced legal professionals and maintains a register of asbestos exposure.
