ORBIT Week 1: Agitato & Charcoal

The first week of ORBIT sees Jo Lloyd's Agitato and Charcoal by Keia McGrady premiere in South Australia.

Purchasing a ticket to this event admits you to the full Week 1 program on your selected night. The works will be performed with a short interval between each presentation.

• Thursday 5 November: 6:30pm - 9:00pm

• Friday 6 November: 6:30pm - 9:00pm

• Saturday 7 November: 2pm - 4:30pm & 6:30pm - 9:00pm

About the works:

Our first ORBIT program places emerging and established artists alongside each other to give audiences the opportunity to experience a thrilling cross-section of Australian dance.

Jo Lloyd's Agitato sees the crystallisation of decades of choreographic practice into a swirling reckoning with an oft-overlooked piece of classical music, creating a conversation between artists that spans centuries. Keia McGrady's Charcoal is inspired by the regenerative power of cultural burning, creating a deeply felt meditation of memory, Country and lineage that is steeped in ancestral knowledge.

These works are united by an interest in using the body to give voice to the unspoken: to deconstruct form, to embrace invisible textures of landscape and to manifest invisible or chronic conditions. This is dance at its most visceral and thrilling, pushing body and form to its limit to reveal something new.
