Event description

Join us for a guided walk around the Green Connect farm to learn more about our thriving s

We have been building our award-winning urban farm in Warrawong for more than eight years and we love sharing it with others! Come and see what happens when you take 11 acres of scrub and a passionate hardworking team and apply permaculture and regenerative farming principles. In short, it’s magic!

On this 75-minute tour, you will explore our abundant market gardens where we grow the majority of our seasonal veggies and walk through our food forest that is slowly producing fruit. You’ll also visit our regenerated rainforest zone and get up close to our free-range sheep, goats, pigs and/or chickens.

We’ll elaborate on how we apply permaculture principles to grow food without chemicals and provide some inspiration for how you can do the same in your home garden. We’ll also share information about Green Connect and how we create jobs for young people and former refugees, reduce waste, and grow fair food, a.k.a. food that is good for the people who grow it (fair wages and a good job), good for the people who eat it (healthy and pesticide-free) and good for the planet (sold locally and without polluting the planet).

Come along to find out more!

Please note that Adult Farm Tours are designed for adults. If you’re interested in bringing along your children (aged 14 or under) for a fun and interactive experience on the farm, we invite you to book into a Family Farm TourPrivate farm tours are also available for community groups or larger groups of family and friends.

If you’re interested in getting in-depth information about permaculture or how to apply our methods in your backyard, we invite you to explore our range of Workshops.

Before you book, please consider the following:

  • The site is a working farm and visitors must participate in a safety briefing before entering.
  • The terrain at the farm is particularly steep and slippery in parts. Though we do take it slowly, the tour involves a moderately strenuous walk and is not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.
  • Plants love rain and so do we! We don't cancel tours in wet weather unless there is a dangerous storm. Rain (and mud!) is all part of the fun.
  • Allergen advice: Our farm is home to domestic animals as well as bees, wasps and macadamia trees. Please pack an Epipen if allergic and keep it with you at all times.

All tour participants must:

  • Wear enclosed shoes or boots (sorry no thongs or sandals allowed) and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants are recommended.
  • Bring a hat and sunscreen or rain gear, depending on the weather forecast.

If you have any questions about this workshop, please don't hesitate to contact us at activities@green-connect.com.au or 4243 1537.
