FLING's Adult Community Engagement Programs are a welcoming space to try something new, or return to your body in movement.
Classes are facilitated by FLING's team of professional dance artists and open to all abilities, ages and levels of experience.

Join Associate Artist Paddy Meessmann in 'Adult Gymnastics'.

WHAT TO EXPECT?:

Class starts with a series of exercises to build strength, stamina, coordination and heat in the body.

We will use tumble run mats to learn basic gymnastic skills such as forwards rolls, hand stands, cartwheels and round offs

 -  We will use soft apparatus and a mini trampoline to learn beginner to intermediate skills in jumping and landing and scaling objects at varying heights

Class is adaptable to facilitate any specific gymnastic skill you may like to learn.

WHO IS IT FOR?:

  • All adults wishing to learn the basics of gymnastics and gain confidence developing new physical skills.

WHO IS LEADING?:

Our Associate Artist Paddy Meessmann is an experienced and vibrant facilitator - and an original FLINGer!

He keeps all participants engaged, thriving, laughing (at his expense) and sweating! He is a professional dancer and educator with a background in physical theatre and gymnastics. As a young artist at FLING he trained in physical theatre and dance where he developed a passion for acro balance and tumbling skills. He has carried these interests into his teaching and professional work.

WHAT TO WEAR?:

  • Wear warm layers and comfortable clothing

  • We work in bare foot or socks.

Class content can be adjusted with support from our teachers to suit your mobility needs.
If you have any accessibility requirements or previous injuries you would like to discuss before joining us, don't hesitate to get in touch.

*This class is best experienced in a series, however casual attendance is available.

Please Note: This event will go ahead with 7 enrolments to the full series. Bookings will be informed by Tues 21 July.
