The journey continues with our adult jazz combo classes!

Guided by seasoned ColaJazz instructors, participants will delve into the twists and turns of jazz, learning theoretical foundations and refining skills on classic jazz standards. Elevate your improvisational skills and partake in this weekly jazz combo experience. The pinnacle of your jazz odyssey culminates in a grand finale public concert where you'll showcase your refined artistry.

*On Thursday, Dec 12th, you'll perform at The Aristocrat from 6:30p-7:30p!


  LOCATION:  
ColaJazz Office, 2123 College Street, Columbia, SC 29205


  COST:  
$270 total  
$21 per 2-hour session - a remarkable deal for guided, world-class instruction each week. 

  PREREQUISITES:  
 - Ability to play scales in multiple keys (e.g. C, E-flat, A, B-flat, etc)
- Read through lead sheets (e.g. a jazz tune like Blue Monk from a Fake Book).
- Piano players need to voice chords with notation (e.g. know a CMAJ7 chord contains the notes C,E,G,B)
- Guitarists should be able to play movable chord shapes for common jazz chords (e.g. Dmin7, G7, CMAJ7, Amin7b5, etc)
- Students do NOT need to be accomplished improvisers; this course aims to develop this instinct within the performer.


  PLEASE NOTE:  
 - Slots are limited in order to provide the BEST combo experience.
 - This particular combo session is geared more towards intermediate and above players.
 - If there is a demand for it, we will open additional combo class(es) on another night of the week.
