JULY 23, 30, AUG 6, 13
FLING's Adult Community Engagement Programs are a welcoming space to try something new, or return to your body in movement.
Classes are facilitated by FLING's team of professional dance artists and open to all abilities, ages and levels of experience.
Join Associate Artist Paddy Meessmann for the relaunch of 'Adult Tap'!
WHAT TO EXPECT?:
Tap class starts with a series of warm up exercises at the (Ballet) Barre - working on stability, coordination and rhythm.
It progresses to exercises travelling down the studio in groups, building strength, coordination and building on rhythms.
Class culminates in a simple, fun routine exploring the exercises learnt in class followed by a cool down and stretch.
WHO IS IT FOR?:
Adults of all ages keen to learn the basics of tap dancing in a fun and friendly environment
Any adults who have tapped before, wishing to dust off the old shoes and groove!
WHO IS LEADING?:
Our Associate Artist Paddy Meessmann is an experienced and vibrant facilitator - and an original FLINGer!
He keeps all participants engaged, thriving, laughing (at his expense) and sweating! He is a professional dancer and educator who learnt Tap and Irish dancing from a young age. Though his current work is mainly in contemporary dance and physical theatre, he loves any chance to dust off his old shoes and share his passion for carving up the floor with his tap shoes!
WHAT TO WEAR?:
Clothes you are comfortable to move in.
Tap shoes if you own any, or sneakers to start!
*Class content can be adjusted with support from our teachers to suit your mobility needs.
If you have any accessibility requirements or previous injuries you would like to discuss before joining us, don't hesitate to get in touch.
*This class is best experienced in a series, however casual attendance is available.
Please Note: This event will go ahead with 7 enrolments to the full series. Bookings will be informed by Mon 21 July.
