Dive into the world of art and explore the potential of various mediums such as Graphite, Charcoal, Pastel, Watercolour, Acrylic Painting and more!

This is a fun Exploratory Creative experience for anyone to try their hand at, even absolute beginners!

THIS CLASS IS FOR:  Beginners - Intermediate
TIME: Mondays 6-8 pm
DURATION: 10 weeks
WHEN: 13th October - 15th December

What will be covered in this course?

Each week you will be introduced to a new art medium and shown how to use the materials supplies by the teacher. You will then be guided and coached through the artwork creation process.

Through weekly exercises you will learn fundamental art theories, how they influence your artwork & how to manipulate them to create effective pieces of art. These theories include: Colour Theory, The elements of Art & Principles of design

By the end of this course students will: 
You will have been introduced to new mediums, ideas and have a range of creative projects to look back on and admire your skills!

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Jess is a professional artist, face painter and published author. She has exhibited and sold her works both locally and internationally. She studied a Bachelor of Fine Art and has a Diploma of Visual Arts at Tafe NSW. 
She has been working with children and teaching  the arts for over 5 years. She founded Woolgoolga Art School in 2023, is a professional face painter on the weekends and runs private Paint & Sip parties. 
In her personal arts practise she primarily works with acrylic paints, graphite, charcoal & pastels, depicting the human form. 
As a mental health advocate, Jess is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of art making. She has a certificate in Art Therapy and her approach to teaching is a mixture of technical tuition, encouraging creative experimentation and building self esteem. 
Her classes focus on establishing the foundations of art theory and then applying that knowledge to artworks.
