For LGBTQIA+ people, making decisions about medical treatment in the event of an injury or illness can be uncomfortable and confronting, a discomfort that is made worse by past experiences of discrimination and exclusion from the healthcare system. It is essential that we take proactive steps to have our voices heard, our identities affirmed, and that our loved ones are confident to know what we want at end-of-life.

Your choices matter, and advance care planning allows you to ensure that your wishes are known and respected.

For Advance Care Planning week (17-25 March 2025), Southeast Monash Legal Service are joined by Advance Care Planning Australia to deliver this free webinar for LGBTQIA+ people and their loved ones. You'll hear from Kylie Ash from Advance Care Planning Australia, and Kavitha Sivasamy, Justice Q Lawyer at Southeast Monash Legal Service.

Advance Care Planning Australia is a national project funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, which aims to promote and improve advance care planning so that people have a voice, can document their wishes and preferences, are listened to by care providers and have their wishes and preferences enacted.
