Advanced Interviewing Skills for Investigators: Cognitive and Trauma-Informed Approaches
Event description
Interviewing skills are one of the most important skillsets for investigators because a large proportion of evidence is collected in interviews. Often there is technical or physical evidence, but sometimes we are reliant on good interview evidence to explain the human contribution to the event, or to provide the links between other evidence sources.
At the end of the 2-day course, participants will be able to:
Describe factors which influence interviewees’ ability to provide accurate information
Describe and implement good investigative interviewing principles and techniques
Effectively plan and conduct interviews of involved persons and stakeholders for internal incident/accident investigations.
This course is practice-based. You can expect to be involved in up to 6 practice interviews as you build your skills over the 2 days
