Advancing Patient-Centred Research Down Under
Description
The Advancing Patient-Centred Research Down Under conference is jointly hosted in Sydney on the 1st and 2nd of December 2025 by the Australian and New Zealand Chapters of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR AC/NZC) and the Australian and New Zealand Special Interest Group of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL ANZ SIG).
The 2-day conference will bring together academics, clinicians, consumers, industry representatives and policy makers with an interest in health technology assessment, health economics, patient-centred outcomes and quality of life research to showcase the cutting-edge research being conducted in Australia, New Zealand and internationally. There will be a focus on work by HDR scholars and early-to-mid-career researchers.
The conference will feature research presentations, posters, invited sessions, and keynote speakers including:
Melanie Calvert (University of Birmingham)
Mark Sculpher (University of York)
Five awards, each valued at $500, will be presented at the conference, in the following categories: Best presentation, Best panel/symposium, People’s choice, Best poster, and Best student/early career. Early career individuals (0-5 years post-PhD, accounting for career disruption) in academia, industry, consulting, or government roles can indicate their eligibility for the Best student/early career award when registering for the conference.
Poster walks will occur with networking drinks from 4:30-6:00pm Monday 1st December (Day 1). We encourage poster presenters to stand with their posters during this time to answer questions from attendees and award judges.
The People’s Choice Voting and Awards Ceremony will be held from 2:45-3:30 pm Tuesday 2nd December (Day 2). We strongly encourage presenters eligible for an award to stay for the awards ceremony, to celebrate your contributions, and potentially accept an award in person. There will be a beverage reception after the awards ceremony.
