Adventure KINdy, Term 1, 2023

Event description

Our adventure KINdy programs offer opportunities for children aged 3-6 years to come together, play, explore, take risks and learn from the natural world through stories, songs, art, exploration, and imaginary play.

Based on Early Years theory and the Forest School philosophy of child-led, play-based learning, our days at KINdy are filled with activities and opportunities for exploration and learning led by the children’s natural curiosity and wonder.

Sessions are led by trained educators and take place outside in all weather.  Throughout the sessions, children can choose to participate in outdoor games, learn how to use hand tools such as saws or whittling knives, build cubbies, cook on the campfire, dig in the mud, identify bugs with magnifying glasses, or retreat to our shelter for some reading or nature craft.

Our Adventure KINdy sessions are held at various locations including the beach, the forest, and a local farm during school term times, and are situated on the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung People.

Our sessions are ‘drop-off programs’, however, parents and carers are welcome to attend for as long as they choose or need in order for your child to feel comfortable.

Refund policy

SEVERE WEATHER CANCELLATION We are an 'all weather' program, meaning our sessions will go ahead, as long as it is safe to do so. Severe weather may include but not be limited to: • Thunderstorms • Strong winds with the risk of branches falling • Flash flooding • Fire danger If severe weather is forecast, the session may be cancelled in advance (the day before or earlier, when possible) and we will offer you a credit towards another session. However, if a session goes ahead but is cut short due to severe weather we will not be able to offer any credit or refund. WET WEATHER Temporary rain shelters will be erected on rainy days, however, participants will very likely still get wet, which is part or the program. Please ensure that you and your child are appropriately dressed, and pack a spare change of clothing to get changed into at the end of the session. ABSENCE/ SICK POLICY Unfortunately KIN Surf Coast cannot offer refunds or make-up days when an attendee is absent due to illness or other commitments. As our programs fees, costs, resources and staffing are based on particular ratios, refunds will only be issued if a session is cancelled by KIN Surf Coast. PAYMENT OF FEES Payment of fees must be made via Paypal, or Direct Deposit at the time of booking. PROGRAM CANCELLATION DUE TO INSUFFICIENT NUMBERS Programs require a minimum of 10 attendees to go ahead. If a program is cancelled on our end due to minimum numbers not being met, you will be offered a full refund or the option to attend another available program or time slot.
