Adventurers Wanted - A Player and GM Matchmaking Event

Calling All Adventurers! Join the Chicago Tabletop Gaming Association’s First-Ever Player/GM Matchmaking Event!

Are you ready to embark on epic quests, forge new alliances, and dive into thrilling tabletop RPG campaigns this Spring? The Chicago Tabletop Gaming Association invites you to our first-ever GM/Player Matchmaking Event on March 9th, 2025, at The Empty Bottle (1035 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL) from 12pm to 5pm!

This is your chance to connect with experienced Game Masters (GMs) and discover exciting new campaigns, one-shots, and TTRPG groups launching this Spring and Summer. Whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to tabletop gaming, this event is the perfect opportunity to find your next adventure!

This event is donate-what-you-want so we can ensure it is accessible to as many members of our community as possible, but if you have a good time, please support the CTGA and our organizing work by making a donation of $10 or more! Donations can be made at the door or online at our humanitix page and are much appreciated!

The Lineup:

12pm-2pm - Open House

Meet GMs and Local TTRPG Organizations: Discover a variety of campaigns and games, from fantasy epics to sci-fi sagas, run by both Professional GMs (offering paid services) and Community GMs (offering free games).

Explore and Sign Up for Upcoming Games: Learn about Spring/Summer campaigns, one-shots, special events, and programs you can join.

2pm-3pm - Player/GM Speed Matchmaking

3pm-4:30pm - Performance by Thirst For Adventure!

To close out the day, we will have a special performance by the acclaimed comedy live play group Thirst For Adventure!, who regularly performs at the Lincoln Lodge on the 2nd Wednesday of each month! They will be writing a specially written adventure just for this event and it will be a great way to see a D&D actual play on The Empty Bottle's Stage!

This event is all about you! Whether you’re looking for a long-term campaign, a quick one-shot, or if you're looking for a party of adventurers so you can begin your many adventures ahead, this is your chance to dive into the world of TTRPGs and all the upcoming offerings in our great community. GMs will have decorated tables with signup sheets, resources, and even giveaways to showcase their games—so come ready to explore, ask questions, and find your next adventure!
