Event description
Advocacy Workshops
The purpose of advocacy is to bring about change!
As associations, our role is to advocate for the changes that are important to our members and our area of interest be that a learning area, a level of schooling, additional needs or one of the many important foci of educator associations.
It’s also something where educators believe they lack expertise.
But it is vital to the interest of your members. Every association needs someone who understands about advocacy and has a plan of action.
This series of four workshops will equip you and your association with all you need to have a simple but powerful plan for advocacy for your association. You don’t need any prior experience or knowledge.
It will cover four major topics:
- What is advocacy and why does it matter?
- Identifying your allies and who should you connect with
- Narrowing the focus – transforming big ideas into a pitch
- Advocating for impact: developing your pitch and communicating for maximum impact
Send along one of your committee or a small group; the training is free, fun, and important.
More information on how to register will arrive early next week, but in the meantime put the dates in your diary.
