Take a journey behind the scenes at Adelaide Youth Orchestras!

As part of 2025's Make Music Day on June 21, we're opening our doors and inviting you to meet our players and team, learn about our organisation, and peek behind the curtain at our rehearsals to hear beautiful music played by some of SA's brightest young musicians.

Each year Adelaide Youth Orchestras (AdYO) provides top music education programs and career pathways for South Australia’s brightest young musicians.

AdYO services and supports 300 young musicians participating each week during school terms a range of large ensembles (Youth Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Wind Orchestra, Sinfonia, and Junior Strings), an exciting Percussion Ensemble, and smaller chamber groups. Since 2021, AdYO has supported more than 2,000 emerging young musicians to engage with our programs.

To be recognised as the leading Australian youth orchestra, giving young South Australians the opportunity to attain the highest standard of musical performance.

Mission

To provide talented young South Australian musicians with orchestral training, life skills and education in a safe, empowering and joyful environment.
