Academic English Classes: Information Sessions 2026
Description
FULLY BOOKED
Unfortunately there are NO SPACES left for this evening's information event!
If you have been unable to attend either of the information events but are still interested in applying for the course, please email civicengagement@qub.ac.uk explaining that you wish to apply.
Are you a refugee or seeking asylum here, and interested in learning English for academic purposes?
Come to one of these two information sessions to find out more!
Queen's University's Academic English Service (AES), in partnership with the Civic Engagement team, is opening up a limited number of spaces on our Academic English courses this summer.
Non-QUB students who are refugees or asylum seekers who have a good standard of English are invited to join sessions alongside Queen’s international students. Applicants should have a high level of English (around IELTS 6.5). However no IELTS certificate is required.
Please, note that this support is for applicants who are 18 years of age or over.
Preference will be given to new applicants, but anyone who joined classes last summer is welcome to re-apply.
Sign up to one of these two information sessions:
Wednesday, 29 April 2026, 12.30-2.30pm
Room 0G.026, 6 College Park, Belfast
Thursday, 30 April 2026, 6.00-8.00pm
Room 0G.074, Lanyon Building, Queen's University Belfast
Please note, signing up to these information sessions does not guarantee you a place on the course. Spaces on the courses are strictly limited, and preference will be given to those who are likely to benefit most from the courses.
For the classes themselves, a choice of two from a range of courses are on offer at a variety of time slots. All courses are non-assessed and run for 8 weeks. Regular attendance is expected.
