The Australian Energy Council is pleased to announce the return of its annual conference on 25 May 2027 at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne. The conference is set to bring together senior leaders from across Australia’s energy landscape to explore the future of the nation’s energy system.

The AEC will be announcing the conference program shortly.

This year’s theme, “Energy2050: How Are We Tracking?” is set to explore the progress, opportunities and challenges that will define the next phase of Australia’s energy transition.

About the Australian Energy Council

The Australian Energy Council (AEC) is the peak industry body for electricity retailers, generators and technology providers operating in energy markets across Australia. Our members generate and supply gas and electricity to more than 10 million homes and businesses.

We are committed to delivering a reliable, affordable and decarbonised energy system, and our members are among Australia’s largest investors in renewable generation, firming and storage technologies that are critical to supporting the energy transition and achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

The AEC has a long-term vision for delivering net zero by 2050 for both the National Electricity Market on the east coast and the South-West Interconnected System in Western Australia.  These documents set out the principles and policy priorities needed to deliver a reliable, affordable and lower-emissions energy system by 2050, with consumers at the centre. The vision recognises the critical role of competitive wholesale and retail markets, investment in generation, storage and networks, and the growing importance of customer participation in the market.
