Navigating complexity: Implementing a hybrid model for aerodrome analysis
Effective aerodrome management is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and safe aviation practices. This presentation highlights the importance of integrating a variety of data sources to improve decision-making and enhance overall efficiency. By combining comprehensive data analysis and targeted surveys, aerodrome managers can gain a better understanding of their operational picture, leading to more informed decisions. This approach enables the optimization of resources and the implementation of cost-effective analysis, ultimately contributing to a safer  aerodrome environment.

Dr. Sarah Kessans
- Senior Lecturer, University of Canterbury
Developing microgravity research platforms
Hundreds of biological experiments are conducted on the International Space Station (ISS) each year, with studies ranging from human physiology and molecular biology, to microbiology and plant biology. These discoveries have translated directly into clinical biomedical applications, new drug development, and sustainable solutions for primary industries. The establishment of commercial space stations in the coming years will open up even more opportunities for a range valuable microgravity research capabilities. In a newly funded research programme, our team will be building upon our current platform to develop technology, partnerships, and processes to establish a competitive commercial microgravity research industry in New Zealand at the interface between the trillion-dollar global pharmaceutical and aerospace sectors.
