Aesop: In Conversation with OTHER MATTER

Aesop is proud to present a collaboration with Melbourne artist Jessie French of OTHER MATTER, showcasing her unique exploration of algae-based bioplastics. Aesop and OTHER MATTER have partnered to activate stores across Australia and New Zealand for two significant skincare campaigns in 2024, which saw storefronts activated with jar and bottle-shaped applications and window decals of French's algae works. This world first retail application of algae-based bioplastic, removing petrochemical PVC materials from the campaign cycle, has the potential to be rolled out globally as an industry game changer. An in-conversation event at Aesop Collins Street will speak to French and Aesop's shared commitment to sustainability and explore this collaboration as well as the artist's practice at large.
