Description

AETHER is a new creative pathways community for emerging artists aged 15–22 who are serious about exploring a future in the arts.

Created by Arts Lab Collective, AETHER brings together working industry professionals and the next generation of artists for honest conversations, practical insight and meaningful mentorship.

Across the Founding Pilot, members will take part in two Open Studio sessions, an Artist in Residence conversation with a leading creative, and receive personalised feedback on a submitted piece of work through Creative Notes.

Whether your interests lie in performance, writing, directing, film, music, dance, design or another creative discipline, AETHER is designed to broaden your perspective, strengthen your creative practice and connect you with a community that understands the journey.

This is not another class. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, gain professional insight, receive thoughtful feedback and build relationships that extend beyond the classroom.

The Founding Pilot is intentionally small, creating space for genuine conversation, connection and individual attention.

FAQs

  • Who is AETHER for?

AETHER is designed for emerging artists aged 15–22 who are serious about exploring a future in the creative industries. Whether you’re studying, training independently or just beginning to find your creative voice, you’ll find value in the conversations and community.

  • Do I have to be an actor?

Not at all. While many members may come from performance backgrounds, AETHER welcomes creatives across theatre, film, music, dance, writing, directing, design, media and other creative disciplines. The focus is on creative practice and professional development.

  • How are the sessions delivered?

All sessions take place live online, allowing members from anywhere to participate. Open Studio sessions are interactive, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, contribute to discussions and engage directly with guest artists and the Creative Faculty.

  • What if I can’t attend a live session?

All live sessions (excluding audience Q&A) will be available to members for replay for seven days, so you won’t miss the conversation if life gets in the way.

  • What is Creative Notes?

Creative Notes gives every member the opportunity to submit one piece of creative work for personalised written feedback from the Creative Faculty. It could be a monologue, scene, song, script extract, piece of writing, choreography or another creative work.

  • How much experience do I need?

There is no minimum level of experience. The most important requirement is curiosity, commitment and a genuine desire to grow as an artist.

  • Why is the Founding Pilot limited?

We’re intentionally keeping the pilot small so every member has the opportunity to contribute, ask questions and receive meaningful attention. This also allows us to shape AETHER alongside our founding community.

  • Will there be future intakes?

Yes. The Founding Pilot is the first chapter of AETHER, with future memberships and opportunities planned. Founding Members will always be recognised as the community that helped shape its beginning.

  • Still unsure?

If you have a question before joining, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch and we’ll help you decide whether AETHER is the right fit.
