IT'S BACK BABY
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. The Southern hemisphere's ultimate wood chucking showdown. Oceania's most elite log lobbing event. Australia's most prestigious timber tossing tournament. This is the Australian Finska Championship 2022, hosted at The Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park.

THE COMPETITION
This is your chance to be crowned the Australian Finska Champion of 2022, and to reap all of the benefits, respect and glory of becoming a wood chucking champ. 150 teams of two will face off in a competitive joust for fame and fortune, and each team will be provided with an AFC 2022 throwing log (valued at $20) that they will get to keep as a memento. For those in the know, Finska is the seriously addictive outdoor log throwing game with its ancient origins in Finland. The beauty of Finska, is that it requires no prior experience to play, is incredibly easy to learn, and yet is still a hoot for all players of all ages - from young children to nan and pop. So! This is a family friendly event and all ages are welcome to participate but there must be two players in each team. The tournament will consist of two competitive stages, the pool stage and the knockout stage. During the pool stage teams will face off against every other team in your allocated pool. At the end of the pool stage, the more successful teams will proceed to the knockout stage and playoff for the Australian Championship trophy. The other teams will also get to play on and compete for the Championship Medallion. The tournament structure is designed so that all teams irrespective of skill level get to enjoy a full day of competitive Finska fun. Even if you have never played before, Finska is easy to learn and those new to wood-chucking are welcome to compete.

TROPHIES AND PRIZES
Courtesy of Planet Finska, if you are an elite enough log lobber to be crowned 2022's Australian Finska Champions, you will pick up the prestigious Australian Finska Championship trophy, a very tidy winner's cheque for $1000 and a $500 Planet Finska voucher. The Runner up and Plate Finalists will also not go home empty handed. There will also be prizes for our Plate knockout tournament which will run in the afternoon for those not lucky enough to progress from the pool stage into the Championship knockout rounds.

In 2020 Championship Winners, Drop A Log, collected a cool $1000, and the runners up, Wave Stars, walked away with $500 to spend at Planet Finska.

GAMES, DJ, POP-UP BAR, BANGIN' FOOD AND LUCKY PRIZE DRAWS
To add to the day's festivities, we will also have a pop-up bar, a DJ and the awesome Agape food truck on site. There will also be lucky prize draws throughout the day for both competitors and non-competitors registering before the event. Our primary sponsor, Planet Finska will be present with Finska and some of their other great outdoor games available to play just for the fun of it. They will also have some "how to play" sessions scheduled and some great deals on a selection of their excellent outdoor games that can be purchased at special AFC discounted prices.

GETTING THERE: The venue is easily accessible via public transport, simply input the address to Google Maps to work out the best route for you. Alternatively if you wish to drive, there will be lots of parking at The Entertainment Quarter.
