GABRIELE POSO WAREHOUSE PARTY CANCELLED

ALL TICKET HOLDERS
ARE BEING REFUNDED

It is with much sadness that we advise Friday January 20th's party with Gabriele Poso has been cancelled. Our intended venue has had some last minute issues that are beyond Afrobrasiliana's control and there have also been some issues with the international airline carrier cancelling original flights and rescheduling arrival times for Gabriele in Sydney. We therefore have had to make this tough decision.

We apologise to all the amazing live musicians and dancers who were involved in this party and to everyone who bought tickets. All refunds are being processed and so if you pre-booked on-line over the last two months, your ticket purchase price will be refunded. This will take 2-5 working days to appear in your account.

Again, our sincere apologies.

If you did buy a ticket, as a small consolation and way of saying thanks, you can enter our Gabriele Poso vinyl competition below.

We look forward to seeing you all at our next party.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS...

Gabriele Poso

Gabriele Poso’s musical passion has taken him around the world, initially to Rome, then to Puerto Rico, Cuba, and most recently, Berlin. Between 1998 and 2001, Gabriele delved deep into the study of Afro-Cuban percussion, first at the Timba School Of Music in Rome, under the guidance of the most important representative of Afro-Cuban culture in Italy, Roberto “Mamey” Evangelista. Later in 2001, he moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico to attend the Universidad Interamericana De Puerto Rico to continue his studies, finally culminating in a masterclass at Escuela Nacional De Arte in Havana, Cuba.  Gabriele Poso has released music on some of our favourite labels, including Soundway, Agogo, BBE, InfraCOM!and Yoruba Records. Gabriele Poso's most recent album Tamburo Infinito ‎was released on DJ Nickodemus' Wonderwheel Recordings and has been described as "brilliant... bursting with energy ...primed perfectly for the tropical dance floor," garnering support from luminaries like Gilles Peterson.

Bateria61 Grupo De Samba + Unidos de Sydney Samba

It's been said that it's impossible to feel unhappy when playing samba... Bateria61 captures the sound, rhythm and joyous atmosphere of the famous Rio de Janeiro Carnival. The troupe's large number of drummers have been regular fixtures at Afrobrasiliana events over the last decade and always set our parties alight, especially when joined by the stunningly costumed dancers from the Unidos de Sydney Samba school. Uplifting. High-energy. Samba. Batacuda!

Afrobrasiliana DJs

Sydney’s Afrobrasiliana DJ crew have been spinning their tropical dance floor sounds sourced from Africa, Brasil, the Caribbean and beyond, to enthusiastic crowds for the best part of the last decade. From warehouse parties featuring talents like Miles Cleret (Soundway Records) and Oyobi, club nights with guests like Essa Williams (UK), through to outdoor festivals and club residencies, it’s all about polyrhythms both old and brand new. Made up of DJs and collectors Astronafrica, El' Chino, DJ JönWalking FishBenny Hinn and Paris Groovescooter, good times and dancing are guaranteed.
